Bumble Bee
Wasps Bees and WaspsDescription Bees & Wasps provide necessary and beneficial pollination for flower, crops, shrubs, etc, Nature depends on their activity to keep the natural order of plant life as we know it. If there is no safety threat let them live. We need them!
Honey BeesDescription Honey Bees are approximately ½ inch in length and golden brown in color. Habits In the spring they often leave the main hive with a queen and seek a new nest area. They may temporarily rest on a tree, fence or building in a large mass. Warnings Contact a bee keeper right away if you see this occur
Yellow Jacket WaspsDescription Yellow Jacket Wasps are ½ to ¾ inch approximate length with yellow and black markings Habits They will occasionally nest in ground nearby or within walls of structures. Call ABES pest Control if this occurs. Warnings Do not attempt to seal holes overnight during Wasp inactivity. This will compound the problem by creating multiple entries/exits or forcing them into the structure.
Aerial Yellow Jackets / Bald Face HornetsDescription Aerial Yellow Jackets/Bald Face Hornets are ¾ to 1 inch in length and are cream & black colored. Habits They will make exposed “pear” or “football” shaped nests in trees, shrubs or under eaves and soffits. They can be a very aggressive wasp when the nest is disturbed. If left alone in high nest places away from homes, they are better left untreated. Warnings As with all wasp treatments, if you do not have proper safety equipment and treatment procedures, it is best to call a professional. Bee & wasp stings can cause severe allergic reactions. Call your physician or seek medical help. Then place a call to ABES for pest control service.
Carpenter Bees and Bumble BeesDescription Carpenter Bees and Bumble Bees are similar in appearance. Both are approximately ¾ inch in length, black & yellow with a “fuzzy” or hairy body. Carpenter Bees differ by having a black shiny abdomen. Habits This bee will drill a perfectly round ½ inch hole into bottom edges of wood and construct gallery nests within. Warnings These bees show aggression but are not known to sting as are the Bumble Bees. |
